Event: Building Flood Resilience in Brisbane

Join Brisbane Sustainability Agency, Brisbane City Council’s Sustainability Agency, to learn about the latest in flood resilient building techniques and how to provide home owners with the best advice.

We’ll be joined by Karen Haworth from Master Builders Queensland, HIA member Tom Yabsley from Evolved Construction and flooding specialist architect James Davidson of JDA Co.

At this free industry event we will show how a flood-resilient approach to building will improve the liveability of homes and the ability to quickly recover. We will also be launching a new Flood Resilience for Home Owners, Builders and Trade Contractors webpage, with useful videos on how to incorporate flood-resilience strategies into your building projects.

This forum will equip you with the knowledge and tips to grow your business, covering:

  • How to identify properties at risk from flooding.
  • Flood-resilient building techniques, materials, and the benefit for your clients.
  • How to provide advice to clients and understand your business risks, including planning scheme flood overlays and site water management issues.
  • Comparative costs in flood resilience building and staying competitive when quoting.
  • The scale of houses at risk in the market and future opportunities.
