Brisbane City Council’s WasteSMART Brisbane Awards celebrate the outstanding efforts of residents, community groups, schools, kindergartens, and businesses dedicated to making Brisbane a cleaner and more sustainable city. Whether it’s through recycling, composting, repurposing, or innovative waste reduction initiatives, these awards honour those making a significant impact.

About the Awards
Launched in 2020, the WasteSMART Awards align with Council’s Waste Smart Strategy. Delivered in partnership with the Brisbane Sustainability Agency, the awards culminate in a celebration at Brisbane City Hall each November.
The program recognises practical, innovative actions that reduce waste, inspire others, and help create a circular economy for Brisbane.
